Being the entertainment capital of the world and the most visited city in the United States of America, the city of Las Vegas is the fastest growing area in America, having grown 57 times its population from 1950!

Owing to the fact that the stream of tourists and visitors is unbelievable, there is no other way out of the situation for the government of this very city, than extending the territory of the city all the time, just in order to provide all those who wish to stay there with the accommodations and all those who are eager to lodge there with a place to live.

Las Vegas is home to ten largest hotels all over the world and to the tallest structure in the western United States- the Stratosphere Tower, disposing of the roller coaster, set at its top, what is admitted to be a really unique piece of art all over the world.

Owing to the fact that the city is in a constant process of its development and flourishing there are no a lot of memorable spots and places of historical value, as almost all the ancient buildings were destroyed in order to create majestic skyscrapers on their place.

Hotel and casino owners bought all the old properties, imploded them and set the modern giants of contemporary architecture, which became later the hot tourist spots. For example, the Strip, as one of the areas full of exceptional venue for entertainment, was totally reinvented and such historical hotels as Dunes, Sands, hacienda, Landmark, and Alladin were totally wiped of the face of the earth.

Fortunately, some of the memorable places on the Strip have survived and some of them even were listed on the National Register of Historical Places. Among them are: the Old Mormon Fort, the Fifth Street School, and the Art-Deco architecture of the first Las Vegas School.
